In mixed martial arts (MMA) and combat sports, there are fighters who are known for having a "good chin" and being able to take punches. But perhaps none are as resilient as the protagonist of this YouTube video.
This is Yi Long, a famous Shaolin monk who has traveled all over the world to showcase the martial arts skills he learned in a traditional Chinese temple. Especially his pain resistance, as shown in the YouTube footage.
In a fight held in New Zealand, Yi Long faced local fighter Brad Riddell, a well-known MMA fighter. And despite neglecting his guard on more than one occasion, the Chinese fighter surprised everyone with his incredible ability to withstand punches.
After taking a couple of hits, Yi Long defiantly lowered his arms. Brad Riddell then took the opportunity to unleash a brutal combination of punches, which were literally absorbed by the Shaolin monk's face.
Without showing any signs of pain, Yi Long capitalized on his opponent's fatigue and counterattacked with a knee strike. Undoubtedly, one of the most unusual images ever seen in this type of fight.
