Cincinnati Reds' Scooter Gennett Remembers Historic Night
It's been a year and a day since Cincinnati Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett hit four home runs in a single game against the Cardinals, and he revealed in an interview with Dan Patrick that his wife's excitement over meeting Nick Lachey at a recent game in Los Angeles easily eclipsed her reaction to her husband's historic night.
Lachey got a seat in the Reds' family section while the team was on a road trip, and Kelsey Gennett was enthralled by Lachey's presence.
Gennett: "He's a big Reds fan and he was there. My wife was at the game and... like, she doesn't really care too much about baseball, which is good. Coming home, she's like 'oh good game,' I was like 0-for, I'm like 'dude...' It's good, that's what you want. But she was at the game and, literally, I had to hear about it for hours after the game. 'Oh my god...' I've never seen her so excited about going to a game. After the game was 'Nick Lachey this, Nick Lachey that.' .... She got a picture with him, so that made her season."
Dan Patrick: "Was your wife more excited about Nick Lachey or your four home run game?"
Gennett: "Nick Lachey. God's honest truth, for sure."
