Peruvian delegation wins medals in Cochabamba 2018 South American Games
The Peruvian delegation continues to bring victories to our country in the XI South American Games Cochabamba 2018. Athlete Ines Melchor won the gold medal after finishing in first place while her compatriot Gladys Tejeda won the silver medal for coming in second place in the 10,000 meters race.
Kimberly Garcia wins gold in women's 20-kilometer race walk
Athlete Kimberly Garcia also won the gold medal in the women's 20-kilometer race walk, crossing the finish line with a time of 1h 33m. Her opponents Angela Castr (Bolivia) arrived in 1h 34m, and Maritza Guamán (Ecuador) in 1h 36m 23s.
Cesar Rodriguez and Luis Campos, in the 20km and 50km race walk categories respectively, won the silver medal. The Peruvian Sports Institute also reported that national athletes Diego Elias and Alonso Escudero won the gold medal in squash.
