Defender Ronald Raldes Reaches 100 Matches with Bolivia
Bolivian defender Ronald Raldes made history in world football by becoming the first Bolivian player to reach 100 matches with the national team.
Raldes started and wore the captain's armband in the game where Bolivia lost to the United States 3-0. Despite the negative result, the defender was able to establish a milestone that seemed unreachable in Bolivia, as few players had come close to one hundred games.
The 36-year-old defender made his debut for the Bolivian national team in 2001 against Venezuela. Since then, he has accumulated games and has been called up several times for Bolivia, establishing an important record.

Raldes could have reached 100 matches two years ago, but in 2016 he decided to step away from the Bolivian national team due to a disagreement with the then-coach, Julio César Baldivieso.
Now, the center-back will have at least two more matches to continue his career and extend his record.
