The Peruvian soccer reached glory at the club level in 2003. Cienciano won the Copa Sudamericana title by defeating the mighty River Plate. And a year later, they repeated the feat by defeating Boca Juniors and winning the Recopa Sudamericana. Undoubtedly, it was the greatest achievement a Peruvian team could reach. And the man behind it all was Freddy Ternero, a man who made the impossible possible.
