Toluca fans call for violence against Santos fans
Some "fans" of the Toluca Red Devils invite the rest of the scarlet team's followers to unleash violence against Santos fans who attend the Nemesio Diez Stadium next Sunday.
On Facebook, in a group called "Loko por el rojo," a video is projected in the stands of the Corona Stadium, where two Toluca fans were celebrating their team's first goal in the first leg of the grand final.
Given this regrettable act of intolerance by albiverde fans, Toluca supporters promised revenge.
After the shouts of goal from the pair of scarlet followers, Santos fans around them threw beer, cups, and plastic bottles with water at them.
According to the post and subsequent comments, any Lagunero fan wearing a Santos shirt will be targeted.
"What do you think, red gang? This is what it takes to have the guts to be surrounded by dumb people and still continue supporting Toluca as it should be. You wouldn't have seen this video if someone hadn't passed it on to me. It's personal, but I prefer to publish it to all of you so that we give them a proper welcome on Sunday. On Sunday, they will hit a wall," says the post.
The comments were not long in coming: "They're going to be screwed at the Nemesio Diez," "We'll be waiting for you here, poor guy wearing a Santos shirt."
There were even those who threatened death to anyone wearing green and white shirts.
This undoubtedly raises alarms in a league that strives to eradicate all acts of violence inside and outside the stadiums.
