Diego Maradona to become president of Dynamo Brest

Diego Maradona will be the president and in charge of all football at Dynamo Brest in Belarus, as he announced this Tuesday through his Instagram account.

"I signed the contract and I am the president of Dynamo Brest. Thank you for the trust and for thinking of me. Another achievement together @matiasmorlaok," wrote Maradona.

"Happy to have reached an agreement with Dynamo Brest, from Belarus, to appoint Diego Maradona as president of the club and in charge of all football at the institution. A new challenge that Diego will face as he has always done in his life," his lawyer and agent, Matías Morla, posted on his Twitter account.

The message is accompanied by a photo of Maradona signing a contract, with a Belarus flag behind him.

It is presumed that the World Cup champion will take charge of the club after the World Cup in Russia, where he will work as a television commentator.

In late April, Maradona stopped being the coach of Al-Fujairah, from the Second Division of the United Arab Emirates, after failing to secure promotion to the top category of local football.

As a coach, Maradona has led the Argentine teams Deportivo Mandiyú (1994) and Racing Club (1995), Al-Wasl (2011-2012) in the United Arab Emirates, and the Argentine national team (2008-2010).

In the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Argentina was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Germany (4-0), who would eventually win the title.

Dynamo Brest, a club founded in 1960 but which received its current name six years ago, finished fourth last season and even competed in the Europa League, although they did not get past the second round.
