Is it a good idea to buy generic phone chargers?
You can find generic chargers for smartphones almost anywhere: libraries, supermarkets, shopping malls... Since there are chargers of all prices and varieties, many users opt for this alternative when they don't have the original charger. But is it a good idea to buy this type of charger?
There are many factors to take into account: the type of USB, the battery brand, the quick charging function of the phone, the voltage of the outlet, and many others.
A good piece of advice is to look for a charger that is at least from a reputable brand. It doesn't have to be the original one, but one that inspires confidence due to its extended use or specialized store where it is being offered.
When you are about to choose the charger, remember that one with low amperage will not be able to charge a device with a large battery properly. If the equation is reversed, be very careful as it can cause a short circuit. What you should do is check the electric voltage and intensity to compare it with your smartphone.
Remember that generic chargers are not inherently bad if you know how to buy them and where to do it. The technical information about voltage is important because it helps evaluate the risks and equipment compatibility.
