Arena Football League kickoff features two former Browns

The Arena Football League has kicked off with the Washington Valor visiting the Baltimore Brigade. Cleveland Gladiators fans will have to find a new team to root for considering the hometown team is on hiatus because of renovations to Quicken Loans Arena.

The new team Gladiator fans may be rooting for appears to be the Valor, considering they feature two players who spent time with the Cleveland Browns: Nick Davila and Rod Windsor. Fans might remember Davila from his time as the University of Cincinnati starting quarterback under Brian Kelly, but he also spent an offseason as a Brown after going undrafted in 2007.

Windsor is a star wide receiver in the AFL, but before that, he was a preseason star for the Browns. In 2010 Windsor was on the Browns roster for a brief period before being released, but he re-emerged for the 2011 preseason, in which he tallied five receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown. Windsor also played in the 2012 preseason, catching five balls for 51 yards and a touchdown.

Both players made a very minimal impact on the Browns roster during their time in Cleveland but have achieved insane success in the AFL. It is April, and this league offers the only option as far as high-quality football goes.
