Independiente de Fernández player acknowledged that he brought the knife to the match his team played against Platense de Añatuya and said that he took it out as a joke. He also denied playing the match with the knife on his waist.
"They want to defame with something that didn't happen. How could I enter to play with a knife? It's something crazy and something that I don't think has ever happened in football. It is true that I took a photo as a joke. Then, one of our teammates passed the photo to a former player of theirs and he was the one who started spreading it," he explained.
"It makes me angry because not everything that was said is true. What is true is the knife, that cannot be denied. It is in the equipment room's first-aid kit and it is used to cut ice," he added.
"Chata" reiterated his discontent because he considered it "a lack of respect towards me and also towards the institution I represent". And then he claimed that "they clung to a photo to divert the issue and they don't mention how bad we had it before and after the suspension."
"The fans entered the field and chased us away. Thank God we were all able to enter the dressing room and then they started kicking the door to get in. They threw bricks through a hole in the dressing room and we placed the lid of the cooler there so that the stones wouldn't pass," he said.
