Ohio State was ultimately doomed by their slow start against Minnesota-Duluth in the Frozen Four.
The Buckeyes gave up even-strength goals at the 1:53 and 3:04 mark of the first period and only put 3 shots on goal during that frame.
Tanner Laczynski would convert on the power play in the third period for the Scarlet and Gray, but that would not be enough to counter the tallies by Louie Roehl and Jared Thomas.
Sean Romeo made 26 saves for Ohio State. The Buckeyes forced Bulldogs netminder Hunter Shepard to make 19 stops.
Ohio State finished their year with a record of 26-10-5.
They have yet to reach an NCAA title game. Their last and only other trip to the Frozen Four was back in 1998, when they fell to Boston College, 5-2.
