Soccer player Pelayo Novo stable after falling from hotel
Spanish soccer player Pelayo Novo, who plays for Albacete in the second division, is in a "stable" condition after falling today from the third floor of a hotel, as reported by the Spanish club.
In a statement on their website, Albacete mentioned that the midfielder suffered "a serious accident" at the hotel where the team was staying, and was taken to a hospital where he is now "stable".
Some Spanish media outlets added that the first to find the player were two of his teammates, and that Novo's life, at 27 years old, is not in danger.
The strange incident occurred in the city of Huesca, northeast of Spain, and the player was transferred to a hospital in Zaragoza, the largest city in the region.
Albacete, ranked 13th in the second division, was supposed to play against Huesca, the league leader, for the 33rd round of the championship today.
The match, however, was postponed due to the accident, and Albacete expressed their gratitude to their opponent for their support and willingness to help during this delicate moment.
