Massimiliano Allegri awarded with "Banquillo de Oro" by FIGC
Massimiliano Allegri, the coach of Juventus, was awarded today with the "Banquillo de Oro" (Golden Bench) by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) for his work last season, when Juventus won their sixth consecutive "scudetto" in the Italian Serie A.
Allegri received this award in Coverciano (Florence), after receiving 19 votes, 8 more than Giampiero Gasperini, coach of Atalanta, and 12 more than Maurizio Sarri, coach of Naples, who were also nominees for this award.

"I thank everyone and I wish you a good end to the season, especially Sarri," said Allegri ironically.
The coach of Juventus joked in this way against their immediate rival, Napoli, which is making it difficult for Juventus to win the league this season.
Currently, Juventus leads the Serie A standings with 75 points, two more than Napoli.
On March 31, Juventus will face Milan at home, while Napoli will visit Sassuolo.
In the Coverciano ceremony, Italian coaches Carlo Ancelotti, Antonio Conte, Roberto Bordin, Massimo Carrera, and Marco Rossi were also awarded with the "Banquillo de Oro Especial" (Special Golden Bench) for their professional work in teams outside of Italy.
