The German international Marco Reus has renewed his contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2023, the German club announced.
"Dortmund is my beloved homeland, Borussia Dortmund is my club. Since I was a child, I dreamed of wearing black and yellow and playing for this club," said the player, quoted in a statement from the entity.
"With full conviction, I want to send a clear signal for the future with my signature on this contract," added Marco Reus.
Reus' contract was set to expire in 2019, and following Pierre Emerick Aubameyang's departure to Arsenal in the winter transfer market, there had been fears of an exodus in the team.
Marco Reus joined Dortmund in 2012, coming from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
At that time, in addition to the offer from Borussia Dortmund, the team where he had been formed in its youth academy, Reus had another offer from Bayern Munich.
