In a relentless performance, the Argentine horse Ríndygo showed its class by triumphing in the 1,200 meters of the horse racing classic in honor of the Ecuadorian Army last Sunday, at the Miguel Salem Dibo racetrack.

In an afternoon with a large audience, the defender from Curicó fought until the end to defeat the favorite Black Master, who followed him at the short distance.

Ríndygo practically prevailed from start to finish in the competition, very skillfully ridden by national jockey Manuel González, with whom he completed the race in 1 minute, 11 seconds and 3 fifths. Since he took the lead, Ríndygo didn't give it up, although he competed with several horses along the way. First, he faced off against the fast Arrogante, in the first 400 meters, then with Kuanos. At the end, he left behind, by a few meters, Black Master, Monopoly; Kingdom Road finished last.

In the last 600 meters, Ríndygo did not stop his pace, and like a bolt, he continued the struggle with Arrogante. But Ríndygo was destined for victory and stayed strong until he prevailed by one and a half lengths over Black Master.

An homage was paid to the Ecuadorian Army at the Samborondón racetrack, with the classic race, and its main directors came together in the arena to award the winning horse with a victory ribbon and to present a trophy to José Ormazábal, owner of the Curicó stud.

Black Wolf, on the podium
In the special race of the day, the great horse Black Wolf, defender of the Gianna stud, achieved a spectacular victory in the 1,200 meters with the jockeying of Ernesto Jaime. The recorded time was 1 minute, 12 seconds and one fifth.

Black Wolf returned to the top of the podium after a long time, demonstrating that he is recovered. The winner defeated rivals such as Argenis and Taquicardia. After his victory, he was received by Joan Susa, his owner.

More winners
Other horses also won in the horse racing program. In the first, second, and third races, all in the 1,200 meters distance, Francachela, Prima Donna, and Lady Mar came out on top, in that order.

Mimosa was the winner in the 1,000 meters of the fourth competition. Granítico claimed victory in the 1,200 meters distance of the sixth race of the day. And in the closing race, Falero, also in 1,200 meters, came in first.

6th success of 2018
The Curicó stable celebrated the sixth victory of Ríndygo in the campaign, on sandy or muddy ground. At the finish line, the horse was received by its owner, José Ormazábal. (D)
