In the framework of the recognition given to Aristóteles Sandoval, governor of Jalisco, for his constant support to sports, Enrique Mayorga, president of the Mexican Baseball Federation, pointed out that it is a real possibility to host the baseball pre-Olympics in the state, following the success that the country and Jalisco have had in hosting important events in this sport.

"We do not rule out the possibility of jointly requesting, together with Governor Aristóteles, to be the host, since Jalisco is in fashion in team sports, especially baseball. We also had the national women's baseball championship. There are definitely great chances for Mexico, through the state of Jalisco, to host a major baseball tournament," said Mayorga.

Meanwhile, André Marx Miranda, director of Code Jalisco, recognized that hosting the pre-Olympics of this discipline is another goal that the state has for the future.

"We have delivered excellent results with the organization of the World Baseball Classic and the Caribbean Series, and we hope that Jalisco continues to be the host of major events," he said.

In another vein, the head of sports in the state stated that this year's goal is for Jalisco to be the base of the Mexican delegation participating in the Central American Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.

"We will be aspiring for the majority of the Mexican delegation to be composed of athletes from Jalisco. This would give us a great benchmark to show that the sports structure in Jalisco is producing interesting results both nationally and internationally," commented the leader.
