He'll have to start from the back to try to position himself in the top 10 in the first race of the TC Pista season and, at the same time, in his debut in the category that accompanies Turismo Carretera. San Juan driver Facundo Della Motta, aboard a Chevrolet, finished in eighth position yesterday in the qualifying heat, so he will start from the 15th position in the final race, since his heat was the fastest of the two. The race will take place at 11:20 am and will last for 20 laps or a maximum of forty minutes (televised by TV Pública).
"In the qualifying heat, I finished 17th, one second behind the leader, but five tenths of a second behind the second-place finisher, so it was very close. The car, which is brand new, is lacking a bit, and that's why it's logical that we go from worst to better with each lap," said Della Motta. Later, in the heat, he started ninth and moved up several positions, but towards the end, he lost some ground and finished eighth. "I had a good start and managed to overtake a few cars, but some rivals passed me before the checkered flag. I'm calm, the car will improve, and the goal is to move forward and finish among the top 10," the driver said yesterday from Río Negro.
The two qualifying heats were won by Marcelo Agrelo (Ford) and Juan Cruz Benvenuti (Torino).
The driver from La Plata, Gastón Mazzacane, with Chevrolet, took the pole position in the Turismo Carretera yesterday. Behind him were Juan Martín Trucco and Christian Ledesma. Today, the TC will run its three qualifying heats and the final will be held at 1:10 pm.
