In UdeG they do not agree that Promotion to the First Division disappears and that there is no longer relegation in the top division. The team's vice president, Alberto Castellanos, assured that the interests of everyone are not being looked after in this situation.

"It seems like this league is a joke. The things that interest them, they take to the limit, so much so that only 6 teams have the right to be promoted. We want to express our total rejection of a measure like this. If that succeeds, they would have to change the name of the league, it could no longer be the Promotion league. They would be killing the reason for the league's existence and the aspirations of many that are at stake in Mexican soccer."

Although it is a topic that has not been fully discussed with Mexican soccer executives, Castellanos acknowledged that decisions of this kind would put the permanence of the Leones Negros franchise at risk.

"We don't know (if the team would disappear), those are decisions that will have to be made by the rector and the university. What I can tell you is that as the team's director, I don't see the arguments for continuing with a team that has no chance of reaching the First Division," he said.

For now, the presidents of the clubs in the Promotion league are scheduled to meet next Monday at the new Federation facilities in Toluca, where any doubts they may have regarding the issue will be clarified.
