Olimpiada Nacional
In 1996, the Olympics was born in Mexico, where only young people participated, and it was in 1998 when the Children's Olympics was created, at the initiative of Conade, with the purpose of promoting sports among young people and expanding their practice throughout the country.
Thus, in 2002, both competitions were merged, receiving the name of the National Olympics, being a fair that encompasses a large number of disciplines in which athletes from the 32 states of the Mexican Republic, the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and the Institute of Mexicans Abroad (IME) participate.
The main objectives of the National Olympics are to detect sports talents to promote them and form national youth teams, in addition to promoting sports practice so that Mexico has a worthy participation in the Central American, Pan American, and Olympic Games; on the other hand, it helps to obtain a diagnosis of the level of each entity and improve the infrastructure of the venue.

Currently, 45 Olympic sports recognized by Conade are carried out in this competition, among which, since 2015, Charreria is part of the participation calendar, a decision that was successful, since this discipline is the only one born in Mexico and is considered the national sport par excellence.
In 2015, the Charro Cañón de Huajuco, in Nuevo León, hosted this event; in 2016, El Dorado de Oaxtepec, Morelos; in 2017, Charreria was threatened, as it was said that 11 team sports, as well as chess, bowling, and Charreria, would be eliminated from the participation list of the National Olympics, a decision that, undoubtedly, would have been a setback for this great event.
However, the National System of Physical Culture and Sports (Sinade) and the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (Conade) announced that the State of Jalisco, as an alternate venue for the National Olympics, would house Charreria, so the general director of the Sports Commission of that state, André Marx Miranda, pointed out that its entity proposed the return of team sports to the maximum children's sports event in the country, which includes Charreria, chess, and bowling, so Jalisco 2017 was the home of these disciplines.
For the fourth consecutive year, in 2018, Charreria will once again be part of the National Olympics and will be held in May and June, with the State of Mexico as a subsite for our sport-art, so I will give you the details of this event later, which is one of the most important for federated Charreria, as it is the nursery of great charros for the future.
STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
The charro associations of each entity begin to assign dates for their State Championships, for this reason, the president of the Union of Charro Associations of Colima (PUA), Víctor Chávez Sánchez, recently announced the dates for the realization of the Colma 2018 State Championship.
It will take place on May 6 and 20 for the charro squads and on the 13th for the charros completos, where the charro family from that entity that aspires to a place in the next Congress and National Charro Championship Zacatecas 2018 will participate, so I will be attentive to inform you.
Another state that already has assigned dates for its championship is Hidalgo, because in a meeting with around 40 teams from Hidalgo, PUA Jorge Chávez Esparza, the state delegate of escaramuzas, Raquel Cerón Valdez, and the general secretary of the Union, Gerardo Salinas, agreed by vote that the Colonial de Nopala, in Villagrán, would be the venue for this event, which will take place from April 14 to May 27, with the participation of more than 42 charro teams.
