Javier Pastore hopes to end his career at PSG

Argentine midfielder Javier Pastore, who seemed destined to leave the club according to his captain Thiago Silva, wrote on Thursday on the social network Instagram that he would like to end his career in the French capital.

"I have never spoken with Silva about my problem or my future. I have never pressured anyone. It is not my style. He has not been aware of the problem I had that made me arrive late," Pastore wrote on the social network.

"I repeat: my dream has always been to leave last. I have always been loyal. It is not true that I want to leave! I would like to stay here and finish my career," added the Argentine, signed in 2011 for 42 million euros, becoming the first star signing by the Qataris who own PSG.

Pastore did not return to training after the Christmas break until Monday, with an individual session. Uruguayan Edinson Cavani had done so on Friday, two days after the deadline.

Both players were left out of the squad for the quarter-finals of the League Cup against Amiens, played on Wednesday.

"It is an important moment for the club and we had to think before making gestures like those. It was not good for anyone, but we are with both of them. I think Pastore told the club that he wanted to leave and in the end, he did not find an agreement. It's different for Cavani," said Silva in the mixed zone after the victory against Amiens.

With little playing time this season, Pastore seemed like he could leave the club in the current transfer window.

The player's goal is to have playing time in order to have options to play in the Russia World Cup. AFP
