A process that includes various international tournaments comprised the work schedule of the women's U-20 national team which started in May under the command of coach Vanessa Arauz.
Since their participation in the 2015 World Cup in Canada, Arauz has focused her work on building the team that will represent Ecuador in the U-20 South American Championship starting on January 13.
The coach's work has gone through several stages, with a total of 15 microcycles carried out this year, culminating in the selection of 22 players.
"A process like this, to select players, requires demanding work. To identify talent, to search for girls who can help us in this tournament, we followed various local and national tournaments, a general scouting," commented Arauz, who will lead a team of 22 players in the quest to secure a World Cup spot for women's football.
