New Year's Traditional Novillada in Lerdo City
Luis Octavio López and the novice bullfighter Cayetano Delgado each cut a pair of ears, being the winners of the New Year's Traditional Novillada held yesterday, January 1st, at the Plaza de Toros Alberto Balderas in Lerdo City.
The work of both alternates was very emotional and varied, and the audience responded to their art and bravery by asking for the trophies to the judge of the plaza, José Luis Orozco. This event took place with 4 brave substitutes in front of a little more than half a plaza and a shining sun.

He himself placed banderillas, the second pair of great quality and the third a pair of cortas that he landed on the second try. His faena with the muleta was very varied and had a great connection with the audience, passes finished with molinetes and at times, bullfighting on his knees, got the audience on their feet.
He finished with a powerful thrust to receive a pair of ears. Cristian Antar came next, of whom much was expected being at the top of the national ranking, but luck was not on his side from the draw.
His opponent, "El Conchudo" weighing 370 kilos, lacked bravery, to which he could only perform a pair of manoletinas at the end, finishing with a descabello after a warning and a pair of failed estocadas. Silence.
