That's how the play-off activity started towards the postseason of the Mexican Pacific League.

The first game of the postseason playoff in the Mexican Pacific League was as expected. Tight and with great duels, Tomateros took Game 1 of the series by beating Charros 2-1 in Culiacan in what was a great battle from the mound.

The best starting pitcher from each team took the field with the task of shutting down all offensive potential and they almost accomplished it.

For Jalisco, the American Tyler Alexander had a great performance in a game where he pitched seven complete innings, where he allowed one hit and two runs, one of them earned, gave one walk, and struck out seven opponents, however, it wasn't enough and due to the lack of offensive response, he took the loss.

But the opposing pitcher didn't fall behind. Anthony Vasquez allowed five hits, including Japhet Amador's home run, gave one walk, and struck out five.

After the first third of the game with great pitching, it was Amador who opened the scoring in the fourth inning with a home run that went to left field. A situation that the home team did not allow. Immediately, Tomateros responded when they had the bat and quickly loaded the bases. D'Arby Myers hit a single, Rico Noel advanced after being hit by a pitch, and Sebastian Elizalde reached first base due to interference by catcher Gabriel Gutierrez. Joey Meneses struck out but Alexander couldn't escape unscathed after receiving a grounder from Ronnier Mustelier that allowed Myers and Noel to score.

Benjamin Gil made his moves and with the bullpen he drowned the danger that Jalisco created at times, but due to lack of timely hitting, they couldn't equalize the score and took the loss in the first game of the series.

Today, the second match will be played at 8:30 pm Mexico Central Time. David Reyes (5-1, 2.97), a reinforcement for the playoffs, will be responsible for starting for Jalisco, while Culiacan will send Salvador Valdez (2-2, 2.82).
