The former coach of the Rams expressed that the Los Angeles team stood out this season thanks to what he had previously done in the franchise.

The Rams' Success Is Not a Coincidence, According to Jeff Fisher

The former coach of the Los Angeles team expressed that the current roster is the result of his hard work in previous years. Yes, he takes credit for the team's success this year despite no longer being part of the organization.

"I'm a big fan of the Rams players. I don't want to say they are my players, but I had a lot to do with this roster. I left them in good shape," expressed Fisher in an interview with The Midday 180. "Sean, as he has proven in a short period of time, is a great young coach," he added.

Fisher was not the only one attributing the team's success to himself. Dave McGinnis, Fisher's assistant from 2012 to 2016, told a Tennessee newspaper that they were the ones who built the roster. However, he credited the current Rams coach for his offensive system.

Under the rookie head coach Sean McVay, the Rams have a record of 10-4 in 2017. Since 2003, they have not had a winning record when Mike Martz led them to the NFC Divisional Series with a record of 12-4. In five seasons as the team's coach, Jeff Fisher never achieved a better record than 7-8-1.

Of the 22 starting players on the Los Angeles team, 12 arrived during Jeff Fisher's tenure. However, it was the additions on offense that, according to Fisher, have been the main reason for the team's success. He also highlighted the work they have done with Jared Goff, selected with the first overall pick in the 2016 draft. The young quarterback has recorded 1,484 passing yards, eight touchdown passes, 111 completions, and a 93.1 rating so far this season.
