The situation of PSG in the next winter market remains a mystery

The club needs to raise funds in order to balance the Financial Fair Play, so exits are expected during the winter and it complicates the arrivals. Thus, the sports director of PSG, Antero Henrique, has granted an interview to Le Parisien - Aujourd’hui en France, where he had time to talk about the plan of the Parisian team regarding the upcoming market that starts on January 1st. "At the moment, we don't need the winter transfer window. An opportunity can always happen, but right now, no," the executive admitted with a clear intention of not making any signings in the winter transfer period, which is different when it comes to departures.

Regarding a possible departure of Javier Pastore and Ángel di María, both players being in the spotlight due to the club's financial needs, Antero Henrique responded that "Di Maria, in my opinion, is a magnificent player. In his position and with his profile, is there a better player than him in the world? No. Pastore has a long history with PSG, with unique conditions. These two players are very important. But we must consider three parties: PSG, the players, and the market," so the door would be open for them.

In the case of Lucas Moura, who could end his time as a member of the Parisian squad due to his limited participation: "I can't tell you if he will leave. In any case, he didn't ask me anything. Lucas had a good season with PSG, but his sports situation has evolved...." A similar situation would apply to Hatem Ben Arfa, who has counted his days as a member of the Paris squad: "I think soon, an agreement will be reached. A player who doesn't play at all is not very comfortable. But it's not a big problem, it's not that complicated."

Antero Henrique reiterated the idea that PSG does not consider going to the market to strengthen any position, not even the midfield, where he evaluated that "we already have seven midfielders. There is no urgency for us," even in the goal, where there were speculations about the lack of confidence in goalkeepers Alphonse Areola and Kevin Trapp: "No goalkeeper can say that he has been contacted by PSG. We don't need a goalkeeper. Alphonse Areola and Kevin Trapp are there."

He also assessed the performance of Gonçalo Guedes, where there is an intention on the part of Valencia to retain the Portuguese player. "No decision has been made," so the Valencia team would still have the future of the player in the air.
