Independiente crowned champion of the Copa Sudamericana 2017
Independiente was crowned champion of the Copa Sudamericana 2017 on Wednesday night after drawing 1-1 against Brazilian club Flamengo in the second leg of the football tournament, following a victory in the first leg last week playing at home in Argentina.
One of the most exciting moments of the night was when the fans of the 'Diablos Rojos' sang the Argentine national anthem. Everyone in unison performed the characteristic chant that gave goosebumps to all the spectators of the match. The images have already gone viral.
"Dale, dale dale rojo, dale dale dale ro", could be heard at the Maracanã stadium in Rio de Janeiro and in the southern outskirts of Buenos Aires, celebrating the Copa Sudamericana.
At their home stadium, Flamengo took the lead in the 30th minute of the first half with a play that started with a free kick after a foul committed by Independiente near the area, which was finished by midfielder Lucas Paquetá with a shot.
But 10 minutes later, the equalizer would come as a result of a penalty, which was scored by Ezequiel Barco.
