Mexican fighter Alberto 'El Patrón' visits the Basilica of Guadalupe

Alberto 'El Patrón' visited the Basilica of Guadalupe, a place where he went to give thanks for the blessings he has received throughout his sports career.

Del Río attended this Tuesday, December 12, the day when the Virgin of Guadalupe is celebrated. 'El Patrón' expressed his gratitude for all the good things that have happened to him, asking for the well-being of his family and all the people who have supported him over the years.

"This is a unique and extraordinary experience, I am a man of faith, grateful to God and to my 'virgencita' of Guadalupe who always take care of me and protect me, the least I can do is come to give thanks for all the blessings I have received," commented the Mexican gladiator.

Alberto del Río was accompanied by Father José de Jesús Aguilar Valdés, subdirector of radio and television of the Archdiocese, who had the opportunity to learn the complete history of the Guadalupana and San Juan Diego.

"Being in my beautiful and beloved Mexico, I wouldn't change it for anything, coming as a pilgrim, accompanied by Father José de Jesús Aguilar is a gesture that I appreciate, I was able to see the 'virgencita' up close and receive the Father's blessing, I leave with a deep emotion and very happy for this great opportunity," he added.

The fighter will be back in Mexico City on January 20 of next year for the event where he will support the children affected by the earthquake of September 19th that will be helped by the Association Alberto El Patrón A.C. Fight for them.
