HOW DOES POKÉMON GO DETECT DANGEROUS WEATHER?
Since the new update of Pokémon GO, the famous mobile video game by Niantic, many trainers have enjoyed the new dynamic weather that favors your Pokémon according to their type.
However, various reports on Twitter have revealed a hidden protection system for players: if there is a "dangerous weather" alert in the area, Pokémon GO is blocked and no one within this area can play until the risk decreases.
This, on one hand, has brought a new protection system to the users of the Niantic video game to prevent accidents. But on the other hand, it has caused confusion among players as the application is blocked out of nowhere with an error code.
HOW DOES POKÉMON GO DETECT DANGEROUS WEATHER?
While the application itself does not scan the weather, it uses external sources to measure the levels. In Europe, there is a website called "meteoalarm" which is updated every minute as a real-time weather report.
It seems that there are four levels of weather that Pokémon GO recognizes through these possible external pages:
- Level 1 – no danger of weather
- Level 2 – the weather is potentially dangerous
- Level 3 – the weather is dangerous
- Level 4 – the weather is very dangerous
In this way, if the application detects that you are within a potentially dangerous weather, between level 3 and 4, it will automatically block for the entire area until the danger passes. Here are some screenshots from users on Twitter:
