A new off-field incident tarnishes the career of Teófilo Gutiérrez. What started as a rumor was confirmed on Thursday by the victim himself, Paraguayan forward Roberto Ovelar.
An insinuation from Teo towards the Buffalo's wife disrupted the tranquility of Junior's dressing room just when the team was in its best moment. "Yes, something happened, they have tarnished me and my family and we want to clarify this issue at the right time," revealed the Guaraní striker in an interview with ABC Cardinal radio station.
Ovelar also confirmed that he is seeking to leave the institution due to the mentioned problem with the Junior idol. "I will meet with the directors to end my cycle with the team. Of course, this influences my departure," he stated.
The Paraguayan did not hold back and took a direct jab at Gutierrez's morals. "Many things have happened where, by getting to know people more, you come face to face with reality. They claim to have God on their lips but not in their actions," he concluded.
Roberto Ovelar will leave Junior after three seasons in which he was one of the main leaders of the team. He played a total of 146 matches, scoring 44 goals and winning two Copa Colombia titles.
