Carolina Panthers come from behind to defeat New York Jets in the NFL

With touchdowns from Luke Kuechly and Kaelin Clay in the fourth quarter, the Carolina Panthers came from behind to defeat the New York Jets 35-27 on Sunday, securing their fourth consecutive victory in the 2017 NFL season.

In the final quarter, Luke Kuechly returned a fumble 34 yards for a touchdown, and Kaelin Clay returned a punt 60 yards for a touchdown, sealing the victory for Carolina, who is competing for first place in the NFC South Division against the New Orleans Saints.

This game turned around in two minutes and 11 seconds, thanks to the mistakes made by the Jets, which were capitalized on by the Panthers. First, Kuechly recovered a loose ball from quarterback Josh McCown, who was tackled by Wes Horton and fumbled the ball from his hand while attempting to throw, allowing the linebacker to reach the end zone.

Quarterback Cam Newton then leaped over linebacker Jordan Jenkins for a two-point conversion, giving Carolina a 26-20 lead with 12:05 left to play. The Jets were forced to punt. Clay caught Lachlan Edwards' punt and ran it back to the end zone. Newton's pass on the two-point conversion fell short, but Carolina was up 32-20 with 9:54 on the clock. The Jets didn't give up.

McCown led the offense, connecting with Jermaine Kearse on a three-yard touchdown pass to cut New York's deficit to 32-27 with 5:32 remaining. The Panthers added a 45-yard field goal by Graham Gano with 21 seconds left to play. The next series was extended when Mike Pennel was penalized for roughing the passer on third and 12, and it helped seal the Jets' fifth loss in their last six games, severely damaging their playoff hopes.
