Kevin de Bruyne is not very happy with the work Roberto Martínez is doing in the Belgian national team. The Manchester City midfielder criticized the decisions made by the coach in the match against Mexico, which ended in a draw (3-3).
"It is up to him to make a decision. I think the coach has to find a viable solution so that we can avoid situations like the one against Mexico. Something has to change", he said after the match against the Mexicans.
"Tactically, Mexico was superior. Their system forced us to drop back, sinking our midfield. It was seven against five... We are still analyzing our solutions. We do not have a good team tactic and we will have difficulties against teams like Mexico. It is a shame that we still do not have a solution", he concluded.
Roberto Martínez took over as Belgium's coach in August 2016 after the departure of Marc Wilmots. The Spanish coach's objective was to qualify for the World Cup in Russia, which he has already achieved. Now his next step is to place Belgium among the top national teams.
