Roy Halladay
One of the best pitchers in Major League Baseball in the last two decades and winner of two Cy Young awards, died today in a plane crash at the age of 40.
The Pasco County Police, on the Gulf of Mexico coast in Florida, confirmed that Halladay's body was found in the wreckage of a plane that crashed into the sea.
A few days ago, the pitcher boasted on his Twitter account that he had received his pilot's license and uploaded several photos of his Icon A5 aircraft.
I keep telling my dad flying the Icon A5 low over the water is like flying a fighter jet! His response..... I am flying a fighter jet!!

Halladay played 16 seasons in the majors with Toronto (1998-2009) and Philadelphia (2010-13). He won the Cy Young award for the American League in 2003 and the National League in 2010.
He pitched a perfect game during the 2010 season and a no-hitter in the same campaign.
Halladay was selected in the first round of the draft by the Blue Jays in 1995, spent 12 seasons in Toronto before finishing his career with four seasons with the Phillies.
