NBA: Miami Heat overcomes 25-point deficit to beat Los Angeles Clippers
James Johnson made a pair of free throws with 8.7 seconds left and the Miami Heat recovered after squandering a 25-point lead to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 104-101 on Sunday.
Trailing by 25 in the second half, the Clippers started the final quarter with a 16-0 run and took a 101-100 lead with 16.3 seconds on the clock. However, they couldn't increase the lead as Austin Rivers missed two free throws.
Johnson put Miami ahead and, after Blake Griffin missed a three-pointer, Josh Richardson added another pair of free throws. Hassan Whiteside led the Heat with 21 points and 17 rebounds. Griffin had 23 points and Lou Williams contributed for the Clippers.
