Carlos Zambrano gets red card in PAOK vs AEK Atenas match
Carlos Zambrano was playing as a starter for PAOK against AEK Atenas in Matchday 10 of the Greek League, but the defender had to leave the pitch early due to a double yellow card. Just 8 minutes into the game, the 'Kaiser' received the first warning after a harsh tackle on the opposing forward. However, at minute 35' he would touch another AEK Atenas player and the referee penalized the foul.
The expulsion play of Carlos Zambrano starts in AEK Atenas field, a counterattack would force the national defender to stop the play, however, he didn't measure the distance between him and the opponent, which caused him to make contact below. The referee understood that the 'Kaiser' forgot about the ball and stopped the forward of the opposing team with a 'slide tackle', so he was booked, causing his team PAOK to be left with 10 players at minute 35' of the first half.
As you may remember, Carlos Zambrano signed for PAOK this season, after not having continuity in Rubin Kazan of Russia, the club where he was during the 2016-17 season. The 'Kaiser' couldn't establish himself in the defense of the European team, so he was not taken into account and was not considered to continue this season with the club. The national defender decided to try his luck in the Greek League.
