Everton bans a fan from the stadium for allegedly attempting to punch a Lyon player

The fan, who was not identified, was holding a child in one arm when he appeared to throw a punch at goalkeeper Anthony Lopes during a brawl between players near the stands in the second half of Thursday's match.

Everton said the fan will not be allowed back into the stadium.

The English club also faces sanctions from UEFA, as the governing body of European football accused them of "fan aggression against players".

The police are investigating the case.
