Defeat in the last league game against the bottom team of the Premier League has set off all the alarms at Chelsea.

The blues had previously lost against the, for now, unbeatable Manchester City (0-1), but nobody expected that the only team that hadn't earned a single point or scored a single goal so far, Crystal Palace, would also be able to defeat them (2-1).

One of the main reasons behind this bad moment that the club is going through, is the lack of goal scoring ability.

The Londoners heavily rely on the success of Álvaro Morata (6 goals in 7 matches) and now that the Madrid-born player is injured, they find themselves without a striker, without a player capable of converting the opportunities into goals.

For now, that role should fall on Belgian Michi Bathsuayi, but his performance in the league (where he hasn't scored yet) is far from optimal. In fact, the team's coach, Italian Antonio Conte, has already demanded the arrival of a new attacking player during the upcoming winter transfer market.

In this sense, it is mentioned that Chelsea could be considering the signing of Englishman Jamie Vardy (Leicester City), Belgian Christian Benteke (Crystal Palace), or Ghanaian Richmond Boakye (Red Star Belgrade). However, it is clear that until January, the press will put forth a good number of names.
