Toñete's outstanding performance.

Outstanding presentation by Toñete from Madrid. Castellanos disappointed and got injured. Patricio Ochoa and Marcos went unnoticed, lacking arguments to showcase themselves. They deserve another opportunity.

Monumental Plaza de Toros Mexico

4th Novillada with picadors, "Dreamers of Glory"

Interesting international lineup that attracted a small audience on an afternoon that started with sun, strong lightning, and strong gusts of wind that disappeared when the rain started in the middle of the fight with the fourth bull.

Cattle Game

Bulls from Caparica bred by Roberto Viezcas Mireles, and the brothers Manuel and Julio Muñoz Cano Castro at Rancho el Rocío de Valentina in Juipilco, State of Mexico. 1st: Tame. 2nd: Good. Initially understood that it improved. 3rd: Very unsteady charges. 4th: Very short. 5th: Noble and repetitive. 6th: Tame stuck to the boards.

First novillero

The morelian novillero Patricio Ochoa nicknamed "El Pato" who had no chance with the bull he fought, because although it had mobility, it was very tame and had no chance to shine. He retired in silence. Being the oldest on the lineup and the director of the fight, he killed the second bull due to the injury of Luis Manuel Castellanos. He had difficulties with the sword and the bull went unscathed to the corrals.

Second novillero

The novillero from Mexico City, Luis Manuel Castellanos, a student of the Bullfighting School of Plaza Mexico, who was expected to do better. Unfortunately, he ended up disappointing. He faced a good bull from Caparica and started very well with the cape and the muleta; however, between the annoying wind and the bull's charge, he got lost in so many turns and scattered muletazos (passes with the muleta). Already with desperation up to his neck, he decided to kill him with claw and determination. When he lost sight of the bull's face at the time of emptying the sword, he was wounded in the right thigh and taken injured to the infirmary. He did not finish the fight and was assisted by El Pato Ochoa as we mentioned earlier in this note. His goring was clean and fortunately, there was no bleeding in the ring.

Third novillero

The one who stood out the most this afternoon was Antonio Catalán from Madrid, nicknamed Toñete, who has a very bullfighting heart, although not such a bullfighting last name. A situation that undoubtedly his courage and decision will overcome. He is represented by Manolo Sánchez, well-known in this bullring. With his first bull, he showed dedication against a bull with very unsteady charges. However, he showed that he knows how to think in front of the bull's face, a condition that only those who step on the complicated terrain that the brave ones warn about can do, because it should be mentioned that they charge by instinct to hurt, not necessarily because they are cornered. For this merit, he fought the fifth bull, where he also stood out and lost an ear due to his regrettable failures with the sword, which made him hear two warnings. He deserves to step on this ring again.

Fourth novillero

Marcos, forged in the Bullfighting School of Cuenca and represented by Leandro from Valladolid, also showed determination and technique. Despite the lamentable fight given by his bull, the jury wisely gave him the opportunity to fight the one that closed the show. A very complicated bull that stuck to the boards and we couldn't see much of his good technique that he showed at the beginning.

The afternoon ended with wet fans and an unusual event in the fight of the bull that closed the show, as an elderly assistant who supposedly "looked for his cane" jumped into the ring and collapsed. Fortunately, the bull, not sensing any movement, only struck him with a hoof without any further incident. An unprecedented case without any argument, which surely the anti-bullfighting advocates will be able to explain to us.

The company announces to the holders of the reservation rights that their renewal will start tomorrow, Monday, October 16th, and will last for two more weeks. Do not let your reservations go to waste, as there are strong rumors of the reappearance of José Tomas accompanied by El Juli, where eight bulls will be fought in a charity bullfight on December 12th of this year for the victims of the recent earthquakes that we, the residents of the capital, suffered.
