Kevin Cerda qualifies for the All Around final at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championship in Montreal, Canada
Kevin Cerda placed 18th in today's qualifying round, scoring 79.232 points. His scores were 14.000 on floor exercise, 12.633 on pommel horse, 12.900 on still rings, 13.900 on vault, 12.366 on parallel bars, and 13.433 on horizontal bar.
Cuban gymnast Manrique Larduet, the world runner-up, dominated the qualifying round with 86.699 points, while Japanese gymnast Kohei Uchimura, the winner of the past six editions and the top favorite in Montreal, withdrew from the competition due to an injury during the rings exercise.
Larduet is now the frontrunner for the title, followed by Chinese gymnast Ruoteng Xiao in second place with 86.297 points, and Russian gymnast David Belyavskiy in third place with 85.839 points.
