Umpire Alfonso Márquez to be behind Home Plate of Yankees vs. Twins Wild Card Game
Umpire Alfonso Márquez will be the umpire standing at home plate for the American League Wild Card game between the New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins.
Márquez made his Major League debut on August 13, 1999, and in 2001 he had his first postseason game in the National League series: St. Louis Cardinals vs. Arizona Diamondbacks.
Márquez has officiated three World Series, four league series, six divisional series, and one All-Star Game.
It will be this Tuesday, October 3, when Alfonso will be behind the plate in the series game between the Yankees and Twins, where the last ticket to the American League playoffs will be defined.
