Controversy Surrounding the New England Patriots
The New England Patriots were surrounded by controversy after tap water was sold for almost five dollars at Gillette Stadium during the game against the Houston Texans.
The intense heat in Foxborough caused fans to consume all the bottled water in the venue, despite doubling the inventory for that day.
Fans' demand to at least have tap water was granted, but it was sold at these high prices, resulting in complaints on social media.
We are being told at the Patriots Game today when it's 90 that we have to pay $4.50 for tap water when they have run out of bottled water

When #patriots charge you $4 for a bottle of Aquafina. then they charge you $4.50 for Attleboro tap water when they run out of bottles?

Way to go @Patriots -charge hardworking men, women, & children $4.50 to drink tap water. Disgusting- this is very divisive toward working ppl

Stacey James, spokesperson for the Patriots, apologized on behalf of the franchise for what happened. "That should not have happened. This is the first time I have heard a complaint here. We are investigating the matter to ensure it does not happen again."
