Sam Bradford shines as Vikings defeat the Saints

Sam Bradford opened his second season in Minnesota with a strong performance, leading the Vikings to a 29-19 victory over the Saints, spoiling the debut of their former star Adrian Peterson with the New Orleans.

Bradford threw for 346 yards and three touchdowns.

Stefon Diggs had seven receptions for 93 yards and two touchdowns, while Adam Thielen accumulated 157 yards on nine catches, as Bradford exposed a defense that once again looked among the worst in the league despite a rebuild.

Rookie Dalvin Cook rushed for 127 yards, taking over the spot previously held by Peterson.

Once the Saints fell behind, the question of whether Peterson would shine against his former team became less relevant. Drew Brees also had a quiet performance with 291 yards, completing 27 of 37 passes.
