Winners of the Sports Awards to be Announced Tomorrow
Tomorrow, Thursday, the winners of the medals that Torreón awards to distinguished citizens in the field of sports will be announced. The awards will be presented prior to the celebration of Independence Day.
Alina Garza Herrera, director of the Municipal Sports Institute, commented that her department proposed three candidates, who are the winners of the previous edition of the International Lala Marathon, Daniel Ortiz Pérez and Isabel Vélez, a significant achievement that places them among the candidates to receive such recognition.
The call is made openly to the public, anyone can propose by submitting the corresponding paperwork.
Tere is also umpire Raúl Luna Torre, who has a long and recognized career, so he was also proposed by the IMD.
For the Niños Héroes de Chapultepec award, Salvador Galindo was proposed, and for adapted sports, there is goalkeeper Jorge Luis, goalkeeper of the Guerreros Amputados team from the DIF, as well as the medalists in the Parapan American Games in blind soccer.
Alina Garza indicated that the call is made openly to the public, anyone can propose by submitting the corresponding paperwork.
The deadline has already passed, so now the meeting will be held to evaluate the proposals, by the committee composed of personalities from different sectors of society, such as business, education, and civil society, who will determine the winners, which will be announced on the same day.
