NFL suspends Ezekiel Elliott for six games
The NFL has suspended Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott for six games for violating the league's personal conduct policy.
The suspension comes after the NFL investigated accusations of domestic violence made against Elliott by his ex-girlfriend, Tiffany Thompson, for nearly a year.
Elliott denies accusations
Elliott has denied the allegations and has three days to appeal the suspension. If the suspension is upheld, he will not be able to make his season debut until October 29 when the Cowboys face the Washington Football Team.
Although Elliott has the option to appeal, the NFL believes that acts of violence warrant the punishment.
