Michael Bradley, who was called up by the national team for the second phase of the fourteenth edition of the Gold Cup, was chosen as the winner of the Concacaf national team tournament's Golden Ball.
Bradley, from FC Toronto, received the award on the field of Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where the final was played and the United States won 2-1 against Jamaica to secure its sixth championship title in the tournament that started on July 6th. The tournament covered 13 different venues and played matches in 14 stadiums.
The star midfielder for the United States did not join the team until the quarterfinals, becoming the brain of the team's game. The Stars and Stripes first defeated El Salvador 2-0 and then beat Costa Rica by the same score (2-0) in the semifinals.
Alongside Bradley, who as the captain of the United States national team also received the Fair Play award during the tournament, young Canadian forward Alphonso Davies, who scored three goals, received the Golden Boot.
Meanwhile, Andre Blake, the standout player for Jamaica, who became a hero for his team in the quarterfinals with a 2-1 victory against Canada, and in the semifinals with a 1-0 win against Mexico, to deliver a major surprise. However, he was unable to finish the final due to an injury and received the Golden Glove award.
