Santos Laguna gaining strength in the preseason
During the preseason in Cancun, Santos Laguna has started to gain strength and the integration of the players is almost complete, which represents a significant progress in preparation for the Opening Tournament 2017.
Paraguayan midfielder Osvaldo Martinez highlighted the team's mentality and stated that they are working to win every game.
For this Saturday, Santos Laguna will train at the hotel facilities under the orders of fitness trainer Guillermo Hernandez.
"In this new tournament, we try to prepare ourselves physically to maintain a solid foundation until the end. We know that reinforcements have arrived and they will greatly help us. He ensured that his main goal is to be a champion, stating that "as I said before, I came to Santos to be a champion. If we want to achieve it, we have to work twice as hard, be an organized and disciplined team, with a lot of attitude and enthusiasm. This team has plenty of that, we just need to correct some details. It depends entirely on us."
He confirmed that the team has the necessary potential to dream big, considering the hunger for glory that this group of players has, a group that wants to achieve important goals.
"After talking to the coaching staff, we want to fight for both tournaments," he added.
Regarding his new teammates, Osvaldo emphasized how well they have adapted. In the case of Javier Cortés, he has been playing in Mexican soccer for years, while Brian Lozano has also played in this league before. So, "they are two players who will contribute a lot to this team, they have adapted quickly. We hope that these friendly matches will serve to complement each other in the best way, and to play the style of football that 'Chepo' (de la Torre) wants."
