Renewal of Gianluigi Donnarumma with AC Milan in doubt
Last Thursday, it was announced that Gianluigi Donnarumma would not renew his contract with AC Milan. Despite his contract being extended until 2018, he could leave this summer through a transfer or for free in a year. AC Milan's sports director, Massimo Mirabelli, is considering the latter option.
"Donnarumma rejected €25M for 5 years, which was a total investment of €50M. We wanted him to be a symbol for our fans. We are not selling him for now, but if Marotta wants to talk, we are here," explained the executive today.
Whether it is now or in a year, the departure of the 18-year-old goalkeeper will be a great loss for the club. That's why in the last few hours, the names of potential candidates to replace him have been emerging, as revealed by various Italian sources such as TuttoMercato.
Mattia Perin (24, Genoa) and Neto (27, Juventus) are at the top of the list, although the Brazilian from the Old Lady is also close to Valencia. Other options include Salvatore Sirigu (30, PSG) or Andrea Consigli (30, Sassuolo).
