Threats of Death at Almería vs Tiro Pichón Match
The match between Club Natación Almería and CD Tiro Pichón (with a final score of 1-0) ended in death threats against the local team's players.
"If he doesn't miss the penalty, nobody will come out alive," the cry heard in the video circulating on YouTube.
Referee Fernando Pérez, on Sunday May 7, awarded a penalty to Almería and a fight broke out on the field, where the visiting fans invaded the pitch, incidents that the referee reported on the match form.
"A group of 20 fans, wearing Tiro Pichón shirts, entered the field throwing water bottles and hitting players and coaching staff of the Club Natación Almería team; even one of these fans hit me in the back with both hands. Both the fans on the field and those outside threatened death against the refereeing team and the penalty taker of the local team if he scored the goal."
However, Juani Oñate, president of the Pichón club, denied the death threats by their followers, as they only asked the penalty taker to miss "please", considering the referee's decision as a mistake.
