British cyclist Chris Froome deliberately knocked down by impatient driver
British cyclist Chris Froome was deliberately knocked down today by an impatient driver while he was training near Monaco, without suffering any significant injuries, as he indicated on the social media platform Twitter.
"I have been deliberately hit by an impatient driver who chased me on the road. Fortunately, I am fine. The bike is destroyed. The driver continued on his way," wrote the three-time Tour de France champion.
According to various media reports, the incident occurred near Beausoleil, a French town located near Monaco, where Froome has his residence.
The cyclist from the Sky team accompanied the message with a photograph of his bicycle on the roadside with visibly damaged wheels.
The incident occurs just weeks after the death of Italian Michele Scarponi, who was hit by a car.
