United States and Mexico will play the Final of the Concacaf U17 pre-World Cup, being held in Panama, after qualifying as winners of their respective groups in this tournament, which also granted Costa Rica and Honduras their spot in the World Cup.

The US team finished first in Group D with six points, followed by Honduras with three and Cuba with zero.

On the other hand, Mexico obtained first place in Group E, also with six points, followed by Costa Rica with three units and Panama with zero.

In the Final, which will take place next Sunday at the Rommel Fernández stadium in the Panamanian capital, the United States arrives having won all the matches in this tournament, while for the Mexican team, it will be the opportunity to win the Concacaf pre-World Cup for the third consecutive time.

Both teams already faced each other in the first phase, with a 4-3 victory for the United States.

The North American qualification came after a 6-2 victory over Cuba, in a match played at the Maracaná stadium in the Panamanian capital.

This result also meant the immediate qualification of Honduras, who was awaiting it, for the U17 World Cup in India.

In the other match, Mexico overwhelmed Costa Rica with a 6-1 victory. The Mexicans once again used their best weapon, the offense, against a Costa Rican team that only maintained composure in the early minutes.

The Mexican team arrives at the final with 21 goals scored in five matches, while the US team has scored 19.

In the Final, Mexican forward Daniel López, with six goals, and US players Josh Sargent and Ayo Akinola, with five and four respectively, will try to catch up with the top goal scorer, Honduran Carlos Mejía, with 7 goals.

Mexico has been champion of this category in 2005 and 2011, while the United States is the team from the region with the most participations (15) in a U17 World Cup.
