A versatile and different program was carried out Monday night at 'Somos Santos', on this occasion from the Estadio Corona pitch, a special broadcast celebrating the inauguration of the Santos-Peñoles Cup.
As usual, the program was hosted by Daniela Ramos and Raymundo Carrillo.
There was a parade of personalities on the panel, such as Rafael Rebollar, director of Met-Mex Peñoles, as well as José Riestra, vice-president of the albiverde club.
Riestra took the opportunity to talk about the team's performance in the current Clausura 2017, where Santos is already in the Liguilla and only needs to try to win on Sunday against Toluca to climb positions, aiming to be among the top four.
"The team set its mind to it, we have played very well, drawn at the last minute and if it hadn't been for that, we would have more than 30 points."
"It has been an atypical tournament because we had budgeted for 30 points, but we have let them slip away, we have made mistakes, but we have achieved another objective which is to be in the Liguilla."
"Now on Sunday we will try to close at home with a win and be among the top four places, and with our fans we will aim for the sixth championship," said the Santos executive.
Santos did not reach the goal of 30 points, but they did reach the Liguilla. "We need to see, because I think this is the first time in history that no one has broken the 30-point barrier, those points were an achievable goal that we set at the beginning."
In addition to this high-ranking Santos executive, coaches from the Santos-Peñoles academies in Velardeña and in the State of Mexico were present, who shared the importance of bringing the sport of soccer to all communities in the country.
As guests, young players from the different Santista academies were present, from schools in Zacatecas, Sabinas, Chihuahua, and Sonora.
Later, Dany Llanos, creator of recyclable trophies, confirmed that 35 trophies will be awarded in the seventh edition of the cup.
Lastly, Santiago Martínez, Colombian player in the U-20 team, who came to play the Cup with La Equidad from Colombia two years ago, liked it and stayed with the team, he is a midfielder and is going through the youth system.
